SAGE 25th Anniversary

On Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019, SAGE South Florida celebrated its 25th Anniversary at the Pelican Grand in Fort Lauderdale.

When SAGE (Senior Action in a Gay Environment) South Florida was founded in 1994, it was a fledgling group of about 10 members. Today it has more than 300 very active members and serves Broward and Palm Beach Counties.  For a quarter century the organization has provided social events offering interaction, educational programs, cultural and film events, free community-wide special events, and promoting contact with those in our community who may be isolated or homebound. Current SAGE So. Florida President, Patrick Vida notes that many of the activities are held in the afternoon for the sake of those who are disinclined to travel at night.  Past president, Kenneth Goodman adds that having opportunities to socialize and to feel a part of a community of friends is what SAGE does best, demonstrated in the photos from the Anniversary Luncheon below.

SAGE South Florida welcomes new members throughout the year, with membership open to anyone 18 years of age and older who subscribes to its mission and goals.
